A vast majority of hugs in the world are "polite", where neither party has particular affection for each other. And I've begun to eliminate those (from my life at least)
I have forever been the silent guy in groups and the hugs have been a 'why' most times to me. Not because I am uncomfortable, but because I usually felt we aren't at that warmth level in friendship.
I give a handshake to the ones who are nearby and give a very visible and warm smiling Namaste to the others soon after the close handshake, with a side comment on weather or what I can remember of the most recent interaction.
Never felt it odd . But I've never asked the other side of what they thought about it :-)
hahaha, perfect choice of the picture to go with the topic
There is also the risk of misinterpretation due to differing meanings of hug in English and Hindi.
what shit are you tlaknig about ?
